A meroplankton trap, slightly modified, was used ot collect 
zooplankton from coral heads at the Sichang Islands, Gulf of 
Thailand. No significant differences were found in species 
composition of plankton collected during day or night, but 
more plankton occurred at night. Different coral growth forms 
did not significantly differ in the number of associated 
plankton. Less plankton were associated with coral heads in 
protected areas.
